MAFIA DEFINITIVE TRILOGY
Illusion Softworks/2K Czech (2002 - 2010); Hangar 13 (2016 - 2020)
12.3.2024
- 1. MAFIA III
A drive down a swampy road. It's gravel, which is how many of those Louisiana backroads actually are. A gunfight in one of those above ground graveyards I hear can flood. Blinding light from hanging lanterns hide the white men trying to shoot me. I think I shoot myself--the "myself" of the second game--in the head because I chose to. And hotel room meetups with a CIA spook who looks a little like Robert Redford.
- 2. MAFIA I
Here, Lost Heaven seems endless because every door is locked. No road can be traveled down without the game warning me to turn back. When I drive, I fire my pistol (it looks a little too modern) but I can never hit a damn thing.
- 3. MAFIA II
Driving up a hill. . . walking through the clotheslines. A baby blue linen shirt blows away.
